Jerry Parles CFI Midland Paragliding is the only Irish instructor that is IAA (Irish Aviation Authority) registered to instruct in our sport and is listed here as an official RTF, reg. 262463 D, quote this number for all inquiries directed to IAA. As a British Hanggliding & Paragliding Association (BHPA) trained Instructor he operates his school to internationally recognised standards, offering quality training combined with the highest safety standards. He started paragliding in 1993 so has many years of experience behind him and boasts a zero accident record.

He is the only qualified Paragliding reserve parachute repacker in the country at present, and is the most senior paramotoring instructor / pilot in Ireland starting in1997.He flies tandem paramotor, combined with many years of hill tandem flying in Ireland and in Europe. 

From his entry into the sport he has been campaigning tirelessly on ratification issues for students, for higher school and instructional standards aided through-out by the generous and very helpful assistance of BHPA & IHPA.

As Sites Officer & Safety Officer for "Falcon Paragliding & Hanggliding Club" he has from the start of his flying career liaised with land owners and Coillte and has a very positive relationship with all to this day. Developing the sports of Paragliding & Paramotoring here in Ireland has always been his vision.

If you live in the North of Ireland for paragliding instruction call First Flight Paragliding BHPA Registered School, its Chief Flying Instructor is Bertie Kennedy, he is one of the most experienced pilot/ instructors in the business with over 35 years experience and was a founding member at the start of free flying in Ireland all those years ago. You are guaranteed first class instruction combined with the highest safety standards in this school. 

First Flight Paragliding was established in Northern Ireland in 1996. It is the longest established continuously operating paragliding school in Ireland and has been responsible for providing professional flight training in accordance with the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association syllabus and procedures ever since as BHPA Registered School No. 296.

The school is associated with the Ulster Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club.
