The IPPHA (The Irish Powered
Paragliding and Hanggliding Association) was formed in 2006 It is recognised by
the Irish We are seeking new ways to
encourage participation and support for all foot launched powered aviation
pilots. Training insurance and individual pilot insurance are now available for
foot launched powered pilots in Our affiliated Club is the Falcon Paragliding & Hanggliding Club and its membership is spread countrywide consisting of very experienced pilots and student pilots . Our Irish based training facility is Midland Paragliding which is approved by the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) and it is the only IAA Registered Training Facility (RTF) in Ireland for our sport at present.

Aims and Objectives of the Irish Powered Paragliding and Hanggliding Association Our aim is to work with
students, pilots, instructors and other organizations to ensure foot launched
powered aviation is fairly represented and given the opportunity to progress
through the promotion of Powered Paragliding and Hanggliding in To represent powered paragliding & powered hanggliding in Ireland in dealing with National and International bodies or authorities. To support administrative or legislative measures that will
improve facilities for foot-launch powered aircraft and to act to prevent the
introduction of such measures injurious to the sport. To ensure adequate access to airspace and to protect the
interests of foot-launch powered aircraft. To organise and assist in
promoting and organising competitive and recreational Powered Paragliding and
Hanggliding events. To select, train, and administer
competitors to represent To provide a forum for the
exchange of information and discussion that can contribute to the improvement of
aircraft, equipment and to safety. To arrange and provide the holding of instruction in skills
and techniques and the promotion of safety. To issue guidelines and to encourage the observance by foot-launch powered aircraft pilots of a code of conduct. To assemble, analyse and
disseminate information that leads to the improvement of training methods of
pilots. To provide services as far as
possible and appropriate for other organisations, clubs and persons interested
in or associated with the sport and recreation of Powered Paragliding and
Hanggliding. |
